Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! We hope you had a restful summer and a great start to the school year.
The Office of Student Enrollment manages the admissions and enrollment process for NYC Public Schools and programs for grades 3-K through 12. Continue reading to learn about which admissions processes your child may participate in this year:
High School: Current 8th graders and first-time 9th graders can apply. The high school application will open October 1! Learn more on the high school webpage.
Middle School: Current 5th graders can apply. The middle school application will open October 9! New this year: Families can apply to middle school programs throughout the City! Learn more on the middle school webpage.
Kindergarten: Children who are born in 2020 can apply. The kindergarten application will open December 10. Families also have the option to include Gifted & Talented and Dual Language programs in their application. Learn more on the kindergarten webpage.
3-K & Pre-K: Children born in 2021 (pre-K) and 2022 (3-K) will be eligible to apply. Both applications will open January 15. Learn more on the pre-K and 3-K webpages.
Gifted & Talented (Grades 1-4): The Gifted & Talented (G&T) application for grades 1-4 will open April 21. Eligible current kindergarten, 1st ,2nd and 3rd graders can apply. Eligibility is based on report card grades. Learn more on the G&T webpage.
